Sears and Wii In Stock Alerts

AddThis Social Bookmark Button

Yes, Sears did have Wii’s in stock online. I have subscribers who thanked me already for providing them with the opportunity to purchase them. Remember, there are thousands of people just like you looking for the Wii; you have to be quick.

Here is a little more detail on the situation, and I hope everyone reads the following so they understand exactly what happens with Sears and NowInStock.net.

What you have just been subjected to, as well as NowInStock.net, is the infamous workings of the Sears’ website. Their inventory system is not directly tied to their web site. So, what happens is the site says they are in stock, when in reality they are not. I have dealt with this over the past year now. I can only read and alert people on what my spiders see, and that is exactly what my site did.

Currently, the only solution for NowInStock.net is to manually pull down Sears ASAP after stock has been sold out. The issue with this process is that I have to manually check the link frequently (add a Wii to my cart and try to check out) until I see it is sold out, at which time, I go into my system and deactivate the Sears tracking. So, if this occurs when I not at my computer, then indications continue to show stock as available until I get the opportunity to flip the switch.

Please note: I do work a day job and when at work that job takes precedence over this site.

Again, sorry for your inconvenience with Sears errors. If you feel cheated, depressed or just downright mad at NowInStock.net or Sears; please unsubscribe from the Sears alerts. By doing so, you will not have to deal with this in the future. I say this because it will happen again. Seriously, there is no need to get stressed out about these errors.

Remember, there will be plenty of alerts before Christmas. If you can hang in there and be quick with alerts, you WILL get a Wii!

I placed an order with sears this morning at 7:30 as soon as it showed them instock on this site and I already have my tracking number. So thanks for the information. It worked great for me. But they did sell out fast I told a friend and by the time he could get to his computer and get one in the cart they was goone.

Thanks again nowinstock for this very useful information.

  2. Jennifer Rotbard Says:

I’m certainly not upset with nowinstock.net just with Sears.com!

  3. Justin Says:

Jennifer thanks, I am glad you understand. I just wanted to post something about this to refer to throughout the holiday season. As the holiday season progresses, I know I will be asked this question a million times and want to get it out there so everyone knows.

As, I said above and all the time, it takes time to get a Wii. The more in tune you are with your email the faster you are going to get one. Hang in there, check your email frequently, and we will aid in you getting a Wii. If my scripts kick off errors at any point, I will always make sure everyone knows here in the News section.

This such a great website. I woke up at and around 7:50 checked my email and noticed an email saying it was in stock at Sears. Unfortunately they were sold out online, but I was able to do schedule a pick-up at a store 20-some miles away. I had quite a debate with the manager after I told her that I had the confirmation for the pick-up because she didn’t want to sell them until Black Friday. I kept waving the confirmation note right in front of her face. I’m sure they had a lot just waiting in the backroom. I now have my Wii. Thank you very much!

  5. Matt Says:

It worked great for me this morning as well. Thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Matt Says:

FYI – I was able to get it through delivered and also have a tracking number.

  7. Another grateful subscriber Says:

Just a quick note to thank you for the service. I logged on this morning and found that Sears had them in stock…was able to order one…just awaiting shipping notification to be sure there are no issues with my purchase.

I especially appreciate the up-to-the minute (or so) update and your explanation of Sears’ “we’re at the cutting edge of the 1980′s” information systems issues.

  8. michelle Says:

i got a Wii from Sears! i was up at 6am on the 21st getting ready for work and there it was. so, thank you :)

  9. HuntWorks Says:

I received an alert and placed an order for a Wii at Sears instantly. It appears that all is fine with the order, although I haven’t received an order confirmation via email yet – and it’s been about an hour. Fingers crossed!

In any case: thank you for a GREAT website!

  10. Michael McMunn Says:

Showing in stock again. But you can’t order.

  11. Justin Says:

    Michael and all,
As soon as I woke up this morning Sears did show as having stock once again like last Wednesday. However at 7:00 when I woke and just after my next alert went out, they were already out of stock. So, yes, Michael you are correct. I have since turned off Sears and will reactivate it tomorrow morning. Sears DID have stock very early this morning around 2:30 AM EST.

  12. Adam Says:

Has anyone received an e-mail confirmation from Sears? I bought mine around 2:30am, and have to to get anything. The tracking numbers that I was given after my purchase register in the system, but other than that, there are no signs of my order actually being processed. Anyone have experience with Sears and how they handle this stuff?

  13. michael Says:

I ordered a Wii from Sears when they had some in stock. I wanted to pick it up at the store, big mistake. I got a confirmation email saying that I could pick it up at anytime, then someone from the store called me and told me that they didn’t get them and that they would never get them. After a whole day on the phone with customer service they told me I was out of luck and had to try again. This is all after they charged my card of course. Be aware of store pick up. The store might not get any.

  14. Jeff Says:

i ordered a few this morning when i got your Wii text alert around 2:00 or 2:30am. No follow up from sears yet (email confirmation), and i’m not holding my breath, but sweet if they ship.

    thanks

ps. sears customer service is pretty sad…I had a two different ladies put me on hold for 10 minutes every simple little question i asked. For example “Can you tell me what billing address you have listed?” “Yes sir, can i put you on hold for a few minutes while i look into that?” 10 minutes later…..

  15. Theresa Says:

I ordered a Wii this morning as well and have not received a confirmation e-mail. The charge is on my credit card but only as an authorization. It will be interesting if I actually see the console on my door step. Good luck to all!

  16. Greg Says:

    Hi,
Has anyone that ordered on the 21st of Nov. gotten their Wii? I got an order confirmation and a tracking # from UPS but the UPS tracking # still shows “Billing Information Received” which 99 times out of 100 means that it has not been given to UPS. Just curious if anyone actually has gotten one delivered.
Great Work on the site Justin!

  17. Patric Says:

Looks like they took the Wii completely off the site – I was looking at the page yesterday and cannot even find the Wii for sale today. Has anybody else noticed this?

  18. Justin Says:

    Patric,
Yes, that is what happens. Sears removes the page. But they usually do not remove it on time, i.e. when stock is no longer available. From now on, I am reactivating Sears between 7-9 AM EST if it goes down. I am tired myself of getting alerts so early in the morning and nothing being there. As a result, I can imagine how all of you feel. Believe me, when I have deal with Sears and I look like a sham cause of their lack of site functionality, it makes me mad as hell! But there is nothing either of us can do but deal with it. If I find a fix, be assured I will implement it ASAP.

There were a few people (less than 5) that did get Wii’s from Sears this morning. I think what is happening is canceled orders from the day before are being recycled into the system each night. And as the days progress, less and less are available.

  19. Lena Says:

How can I subscribe to the Sears alert? It doesn’t even show as an option.

  20. Andrea Says:

I ordered a Wii from Sears on Nov. 26th and hadn’t received a confirmation email after 24 hours of placing the order. I called customer service today and the woman said that the system was overloaded with the volume of calls and on-line orders so the confirmation emails have been delayed in going out. She reassured me that my order was in the system and that I should receive a confirmation email within the next 24 hours.

Will let you know if I receive the confirmation email or better yet the Wii!

  21. HuntWorks Says:

I ordered a Wii early AM on the 26th – no email order notification arrived. My card was authorized for $1.00 within the hour. The full amount was charged to my CC late in the evening on the 26th. I emailed customer service; they responded this morning (27th) and said that I would receive an email confirmation within 24 hours. (“The high volume of orders, as well as technical issues, resulted in the delay of e-mailing order confirmations.”) That’s all they said – never confirming that I would receive a Wii.

No tracking number as of this evening – but paid for “Expedited Shipping.” It wouldn’t matter if it took a week to ship – as long I could know for sure that it would ship!

  22. Justin Says:

    Lena,
Check back tomorrow morning around 7-9 AM EST. I am not turning it on till then. I am tired of the errors that are pumped out through the Sears system.

  23. Wendy Says:

I want to thank you for the info. My friends and I all were able to get wii’s from sears. However we did order them on the 21st and just got the tracking for them yesterday. We will be recieving our wii’s on the 29th. Sears was offering free shipping however with that it takes up to 7 days before you are able to track from ups. So thank you again for helping us.

  24. Patric Says:

Aahh! Sears sucks! Web site now says in stock. When you put one in the shopping cart it locks up and won’t let you do anything. Customers service says they are “sorry” but the item is actually out-of-stock even though their site says otherwise. Hmm – their stock is tanking and they can’t manage to run a web site. Eddie Lampart (Sears CEO) needs to kick some butt!

  25. Andrea Says:

Ordered a Wii from Sears on Nov. 26th. I went to the website tonight and there is a tracking number for UPS. IAlso, the charge went through on my CC. t looks like the order went through. Thanks a million for your website and your alerts!

    Happy Holidays!

  26. steve Says:

Order a wii for store pickup… Never got notice to pick up. Sears charged my credit card immediately. Sears cancelled order. Sears still won’t give me my money back. Snail mail to CEO complaining said” I don’t handle consumer problems call 800 number. Sears sucks! new excuse every day why no refund to credit card company. Called credit card company and disputted charge as fraudlant. They have been unable to do anything because Sears suks and won’t call them back. More than 35 phone calls (average 43 minutes per call) and 121 emails and sears has done nothing.
