TXT Alerts & Delivery Issues
When it comes to text alerts, the majority of issues can be resolved by ensuring that you do not have your account at your carrier setup to deny email-to-text messages. We DO NOT send our TXT alerts with a short code (12345) which is the typical delivery method used by broadcast text messages. This method is too expensive for the amount of text messages we send. As a result we use the web/email delivery method such as 1112223333@yourcarrier.com. Each carrier has control setup page where you can adjust your messaging settings allowing for email-to-txt messages to be received on your device. Floating Stock
Yes inventory can float, which means it will be in stock one minute, out the next, and back a minute later. You need to be vigilant after you receive an alert from NowInStock.net and stay on the site refreshing the page every minute or two. It is not feasible for us to send alerts every single time items come in stock, so we regulate the frequency in which alerts go out based on product popularity and reliability of retailer inventory systems.
Some stores float more frequently than others. Those that are famous for floating are Sears, Kmart, Toys R Us, and Walmart. Also, these sites have a tendency to show an in stock status only to return out of stock after trying to Add to Cart. TIP: Sears, the Add to Cart button might not work, yet the Express Checkout button just might.
Browser & Desktop Alerts
Since the LeapPad Explorer is becoming a hotter item everyday we get closer to Christmas, sending out mass amounts of emails and TXT alerts can become cumbersome on both our server and the servers which receive your messages. If you NEED the LeapPad Explorer prior to Christmas, then you should look into running either the Desktop Alerts or Browser Alerts options. Each of these options are really fast at keeping you informed of stock status. Plus, you are only dealing with our server, so it helps to eliminate issues out of our control.
